Top 5 benefits of co working spaces

0 Comments Date: 06 Feb 2017 Blog:

In the last few years there has been a shift in the way we like to work here in Ireland. Our neighbours across the water have long been reaping the benefits of collaborative working environments and have realised that sharing a space with like minded individuals allows creativity to flow and people and their companies to thrive.

There are countless benefits to setting up in a co-working space, here are our top five;

Knowledge sharing and collaboration

Sharing an office space with others, rather than working alone at home opens up opportunities to talk with like-minded people. Co working spaces give members the chance to meet and chat with other bright minds, form ideas, get answers to niggling questions, and even collaborate on projects together.

Social interaction

As an entrepreneur working from home can be isolating. If you encounter a problem, it’s difficult to know where to turn to for help. Co working spaces have a built in support system of fellow entrepreneurs and mentors. They are active communities where people support one another and help one another when it’s needed.

Higher level of productivity

Sometimes when we work from home, a coffee shop or hotel foyer, there are a million distractions that hinder our productivity. Ever notice that when you’re working from home, your house is completely spotless? You end up cleaning instead of working! Distractions are everywhere. When you’re in a professional work space, it’s a relaxed and informal environment, yet also a productive one. There are fewer distractions leading to better productivity and creativity. Co workers get sh*t done and it’s easy to get motivated when you’re surrounded by that type of energy.

Part of a community

When you join a co working space, you do so much more than just rent a desk. You join a community of people who have similar goals and aspirations; a network of people with shared values. People get involved in the community, they help each other out and have valuable conversations over coffee.

No overheads

There is only one monthly transaction; the desk rental fee. Everything else is included. Whether paying monthly, quarterly, or yearly, members of co working spaces can rest easy that they won’t have a heating bill, internet bill, phone bill, electricity bill or any other bill coming in the letterbox each month. Co-workers also don't have to worry about maintenance or upkeep, all of which are taken care of by the Community Manager.
